Fantom 基金会董事 Andre Cronje 在社交媒体上表示，Fantom 已成功解决了区块链中的状态膨胀问题，这是该项目自成立初期以来的核心里程碑之一。Fantom 采用了 aBFT（异步拜占庭容错）共识机制，该机制不需要最长链规则。一旦超过三分之二的验证者知晓前一个状态，就可以裁剪掉到达该状态之前的所有数据。这意味着可以修剪掉两个纪元（epoch）状态之前的所有数据。; u: M- b, s" Q( }; ?

Fantom 还引入了新的数据库技术 Carmen，采用平面存储而不是树或字典结构，并在保持世界状态的加密签名的同时，进一步大幅减少了当前的激活状态膨胀。最后，Carmen 原生支持实时修剪，尽管存档节点仍需保留所有数据，但大多数验证者可以启用修剪功能。使用上述技术后，Fantom 的状态存储需求已从约 2TB（存档）降低到 60GB（存档）。
